The Dynamic Warm up

The Dynamic Warm up

In order to prepare the body for the game or trainng session ahead, the Warm up Must Include activities that raise the Total body Temperature, as well as Muscle Temperature.

This increase in temperature Speeds up the process of Energy Production (one degree speeds up this process by approx 13%) and Increases the Body Temperature by one or two degrees Celsius. These Increases improve the Elasticity of Connecting Muscles, Joints and Tendons and help to Improve an athletes Range of Movement (ROM).

With these facts in mind, the Coaching Staff of EIT Athletics teach Our athletes the importance of the Dynamic Warm up and how it greatly Improves athletic performance while Reducing the chance for injury.

Any Warm up Should Include the Following... (Critchell, Warm ups for Soccer)

Stage One
  • Dynamic Flexibility - Functional based exercises that use Sport Specific movements to prepare the body for training or competition.

    Stage Two
  • Improved Running Technique - We as coaches need to introduce Quicker Firing of the Nervous System so the drills must now promote Fast Arm and Leg movements.

    Stage Three
  • Sport Specific Warm up (Specificity) - Continue to Speed Up the Nervous System, which in turn improves: Anticipation, Reaction Speed, Decision Making and Perception.
